Pierpaolo Campostrini is the Managing Director of CORILA (Consortium for coordination of research activities concerning the Venice lagoon system) since 2000. He is the coordinator of the Scientific Committee and the responsible of all the multidiscipline research activities. In this role, managed several programs of research on the Venice lagoon, funded by the Italian Government. He is Member of the Management Board of JPI Healthy and Productive Seas and Oceans, and of the Council of the Knowledge Hub on Sea Level Rise, appointed by the Ministry of University and Research. Presently, he is the coordinator of three EU projects (INTERREG IT-HR, DG MARE- EMFFA and LIFE -DG ENV) and participates as partner and WP leader in others. In particular, he is the coordinator of MSP-GREEN project funded by DG-MARE. He is author of several scientific papers, reviewer and member of the Editorial board of scientific journals, editor of volumes on the safeguarding of Venice. Based on a solid scientific background and used to work in multi-disciplinary environments, his present main competence is related to the Science-Policy interface, at all levels (local, national, EU and international) and is applied in particular in Maritime Spatial Planning processes.
